Product Details
Genetics: Baglung Nepali x Northern Lights 5
Variety: Hybrid
Avg. Flowering Time: 9 Weeks (Late September at 50 degrees North)
Yield: Heavy
Potency: Strong
The classic Northern Lights #5 meets the mystical Baglung Nepali in this fast-flowering hybrid, bred for outdoor northern growers.
While most would assume Northern Lights to be an excellent choice for outdoor cultivation, the truth is that it doesn’t always fare well north of the 49th parallel. It often initiates flowering too late to escape difficult fall weather, where mold and mildew can take hold long before the plants are fully mature.
To capture that legendary NL essence while enhancing environmental resistance, we blended the bulletproof Baglung Nepali landrace into the mix. This dramatically sped up flowering initiation and moved the harvest window forward by nearly 4 weeks.
Northern Exposure was selected for its resilience, with only the toughest plants making the cut. Anything that couldn’t handle cold, wet conditions was discarded. As a result, expect to see a healthy dose of those remarkable Nepalese traits shine through: robust purple stems, narrow leaflets, excellent internode spacing, and a sweet strawberry licorice aroma are common among most phenotypes. The columnar growth habit of the NL#5 is standard, so be sure to top early and often if you wish to create bushy plants.
Expect impressive yields, especially when using large containers or, better yet, planting directly in the ground. Colas stack heavily in the final weeks of maturation and will likely require staking due to the sheer weight of the resinous flowers.
In terms of effect, Northern Exposure strikes a perfect balance between the clear-headed, enlightening Nepalese influence and the relaxing, soothing body effect of the NL. This is the perfect end-of-day smoke that will leave you refreshed and rejuvenated after a long day's work.
Northern Exposure has been bred entirely outdoors and is not recommended for indoor growing. Germinate seeds in late April and plant them out by the third week of May. The harvest window at 50 degrees north latitude is typically late September.
